Chemistry Innovation to give seminar

Chemistry Innovation is a TSB funded Knowledge Transfer Network working across four priority areas (product design, sustainable chemistry, bio-based products and innovation manufacturing) to bring together industry, academia and government. Year 13 Students Visit the Chemistry Department

On 3rd of May, staff welcomed year 13 pupils from St Christopher's C of E school in Accrington, who were visiting to experience practical chemistry in a university setting. In the morning the students prepared transition metal glyoxime complexes, which are model compounds for vitamin B12, and characterised them by infrared and UV-vis spectroscopy.
